Summer School 2008

Summer School this year will begin June 23and end July 25. Both remedial and enrichment courses will be offered.

Tentative Returning Student remedial (repeat) courses include:

• Algebra 1, Part 1 ss
• Algebra 1, Part 2 ss
• Algebra 1 ss
• Geometry ss
• English ss
• Religion ss

Required freshman courses include:

• Basic Math
• Algebra Skills
• Language Arts

Tentative enrichment courses include:

• Government
• Economics
• Computer Literacy
• Dance
• Workout/Self-Defense
• Visual Arts/Ceramics A (2 1/4 hour course) *
• Visual Arts/Ceramics AB (4 1/2 hours course) *

If you plan to take summer school, register early. Courses that do not have sufficient enrollment (a minimum of 15 students) will not be offered.

Any student who fails one or two courses must make up the missing credits by repeating the class in summer school. Repeat class must be taken here at Bishop Conaty-Loretto if the class is offered during our summer school. Any student who fails three or more courses may not return to Bishop Conaty-Loretto in the fall. If you do not like the costs of time commitment and money associated with summer school, then pass all your classes with a grade of C or better.

Summer School provides a great opportunity to improve your skills in difficult subjects or to advance your knowledge in enrichment courses. It is a good way to satisfy some graduation requirements and free up your schedule for other classes in the regular school year.

Summer School Fees

The cost of Summer School tuition varies depending on the number of classes you take. Beginning with Summer School 2008, all tuition and other payments must be by personal check, cashier's check or money order. No cash payments will be accepted.

Registration is $50; registration for required freshmen courses and enrichment courses is due May 30. The first half of tuition is due June 27 and the second half is due July 11.

Returning Students: Each 2¼ -hour class costs $200. A student may take two 2¼ -hour classes. A 4½ - hour class costs $400. A student may take only one 4½ - hour class. If a student is taking a 4½ - hour class, she may not take other Summer School courses.

Incoming Freshmen: Each required freshman course costs $200. Each 2¼ -hour optional enrichment class costs $200.

* Visual Arts/Ceramics has a $30 art fee due at registration.
